The Model SX photovoltaic module operates DC loads with small to moderate energy requirements. With 36 polycrystalline cells in series, they charge 12V batteries efficiently in virtually any climate. Typical application of this module, includes remote telemetry and instrumentation systems.
The versatile frame of the Model SX provides flexibility in the mounting approach. All solar panels are provided with Microcom’s stainless steel mounting brackets which facilitate simple elevation and azimuth positioning.
The Model SX is provided with complete connectivity including, flexible conduit, bulkhead plugs and PVC-jacketed AWG 18-2 cable, which terminates in a low-profile junction box on the module back. Electrical connections are sealed against corrosion and effectively strain-relieved by epoxy potting the module. The output voltage is compatible with 12VDC systems.
The cell strings are laminated between sheets of ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) and tempered glass, making a rugged weatherproof package. The tempered glass superstrate is highly transmissive (low iron content), and impact-resistant. The clear anodized frame is strong, corrosion-resistant, compatible with mounting hardware and other mounting structures, and is durable yet attractive.
